Bowel cancer often develops from polyps that can grow in the bowel. These polyps are usually benign, but can degenerate over time. Regular screening examinations can detect and remove these polyps at an early stage, which can prevent the development of bowel cancer. From the age of 55, this test is recommended every two years.<br \/>Colonoscopy: A colonoscopy is recommended from the age of 50 for men and from 55 for women.
